The coinage of Commodus from Prusias ad Hypium is extremely rare: RPC IV.1 lists six reverse types, all of which are attested in a single example only. Our coin is thus the seventh known issue of Commodus from Prusias ad Hypium, and the first with this previously unrecorded reverse type
